Imo the player awards at best is a popularity contest and I think it should be taken out of the players hands and the awards should just go to players based on performance.
Like best attacker or MVP : an average score based on TD , DF , DF recycled and resources looted
Most feared alliance: same as above but accumulated through all members of an alliance

Just make sense to make these awards performance based especially since the new update keeps track of all of these stats, might as well put them to good use.

You're missing the point. There's already something for performance, it's called the Scoreboard.

Yeah, it's a popularity contest, but the main purpose is to draw people into the forums and, you know, make people feel accomplished.

It would make people feel accomplished to win attacker of the month or week and it would bring people into the forum possibly to see who won for the week and to discuss it or what ever.
The scoreboard would be used to determine who won the list of people who have won would be kept on the forum stickied to forever acknowledge past winners.
It would become more regular and it would keep a better history of the top players and their activity.
And this may bring more people onto the forums.

Scag you are asking these volunteers to do quite a bit more work here to prepare all that. I always wanted to win most hated, but never won that!

If you think its important and beneficial to the forum, you do it dude....ill read and comment on it.

The programmers can code something into the next update that will send whoever a report of attacker #1, attacker #2 etc.
They in turn would copy and paste to the forum, doesn't seem too much of a bother.
The programmers can code it in to send me the report and I'll copy and paste it for them but you still have to read and comment.
