Command Carrier

Command Carrier ship that would give the player the ability to link up VIA, IGRN with a fleet that has a Command Carrier in it and give it directions like plot new courses or change speed or something like it. it could add a whole new dimension of combat. the ability to communicate with the ship would be based on your IGRN lvl

The general idea sounds interesting, but it is rather vague. Can you flesh out what you mean a bit more?

ahh it would be like a flag ship for a fleet that is in communication with home world VIA IGRN the ship would be capable of sending new orders overriding current orders giving the fleet new mission directives such as the alteration of speed mid flight the splitting of fleets or being able to recall some of the ships during a particular mission. i will expand more on it and revise this soon

So say i spy on you and find a nice lg fleet just asking for a RIP so i attack you and the attacks 25 min out well at 20 min you move your fleet and i phalanx you and find that you have moved your fleet well then maybe i would tell my command carrier to intercept that is if i spotted you. or knew were your fleet was. i mean if we can communicate research from galaxies far far away then wouldn't it stand to reason that we would develop ships capable of reviving a subspace transmission with new orders or maybe an ally redirects an attack into a ACS defend for another member of his alliance. why not be able to hit multiple targets with out having to wait for the whole fleet to return. of course your fleet would retain all damage until it landed some were friendly

IMO, this is too big of a change to implement into the game. This is basically redefining how fleeting and all that stuff works. Not to mention it makes it harder for people to escape attacks. Too many flaws or possible flaws combined with the fact it would be a complete overhaul of the game prompts me to give a no to this.

Also, what about deut consumption? If you redirect your fleet to a farther target for a ninja, ACS defend, what have you, where does the extra fuel come into play? And how would flight time be calculated while in the middle of open space? Just seems to be a lot of minor details that would be hard to put together...yeah, like Karroth said: "Too many flaws or possible flaws."

Yeah, sorry but I must agree with KM and Choke. I know someone long ago came up with similiar idea but without the thought of command ship... it was to be able to change the direction and or speed of ships in mid flight. As you can pretty well guess... the miners were for it, the fleeters were totally against it, the turtles didn't care, and devs said no.

That aside, I don't like the idea of me timing a perfect ninja and you being able to avoid it by slowing down or detouring your ships.

If this was to be implemented, this ship could be the mother of all ships. Flight time from planet to planet would have to be extremely slow - possibly slower than a RIP. Big enough to house a standard armada (something like 10000 BC, 1000 Rec, and a limit on other ships too). The cost of this ship would be expensive too.

But, as KM stated, the implementation would be a monster. Too many things to consider if this goes into the game.

So, my vote is no on this one. ;)

Definitely a no. This idea does not make sense for our game type, as it would make every lanx hit near impossible as you can just change the speed to make it faster at whim, as well, deuterium cost is used at launch, so you should never be able to change your speed.
