I'd say they do. We're at the point of the future where people are too lazy to cross the ocean to get to us.

Point taken, agree or disagree? What are your thoughts everyone? :D

We've already become complacent with border security. People forget all about the thousands of mile of border that are to the north and south of the US. There's way too much shipping traffic to assume safety from an ocean route- the best way in the world to hit one of our main hubs of commerce and really kick our arses.

Paranoid? Not hardly. Just realistic. 9/11 was a long time ago in the public eye and we're past due for someone to shake and bake our awareness one more time.

If youre meaning for all intents and purposes youre the US, whats your point?
A man recently walked through airport security in New York with a replica beretta in his carry on luggage, an osama bin laden tshirt, a turban and a belt of hotdogs under his coat dressed up to look like dynamite. Most obvious terrorist ever, let through not because he was so obviously joking or anything, but because he was obviously a muslim AIRPORT SECURITY DIDNT WANT TO OFFEND HIS ETHNIC PATHWAYS OR ACT IN A WAY THAT COULD BE CONSTRUED AS RASCIST.
Also, the constant air monitoring in most places is a joke. Aircraft regularly entire the US that are not detected on radar. Why is this? Because by government mandate commercial radars are being phased out to introduce radars that work by picking up the carrier signal from the planes radio. This is nearly complete. So yes, the Bush administration actually ordered that radars stop detecting planes and start picking up radio triangulation tags. Which can be turned off. And they wondered how illegal items were entering the country.
@Gale Ive yet to meet a humble american and I lived there for 4 years. By which I dont mean I never met an american who said something like 'Ah Im not that great' or anything, I mean Ive never met an American who wasnt convinced both themselves and their country was invincible ><
Thats said alot of brits suffer from the same patriotism.

Rogue,

I was making a joke - and you've obviously taken it seriously... And I'm American, so I take some offense to those comments =/. I don't think America is invincible. It's clearly not - no country is.

Eclipse,

I would disagree with that. We got nowhere in the War on Terror... The world has just watched in wonder in the past few years out our great feet to absolutely no accomplishment... Besides - our wars would be lost if not for the UN.
