i'm spying on inactive account to see if they have a shield or weapons, it says no, then when my cago ships get their BAM there dead, opps a plasma canon poped up or shield...why is my reports not telling me this when i send the e.ship????

You probably didn't have a high enough Espionage Tech to see the entire report. The easiest way to get around that is to send more probes.

You are getting partial reports.

Even if there is nothing after the resources, if the fleet and defences bars aren't there, don't trust it. As sloth said, more probes.

ok so I had the same problem...

So i followed your advice and built more probes, sent them all on a spy mission to the planet that prevously ate 3 Light cargos, and I still get that there are no buidlings on the planet, and no def and 0 chance of me getting blowed up. yet That planet ate 3 LC's... wtf??

Upgrade your Esp Tech

what is a good tec lvl to shoot for (that will leave you with few/no suprises) and is there a counter spying mecanic in the game. For instance, does the Game compare Esp Tec grades (Attacker/defender) to decide what the Probe/mission gives back?

Yes. I believe there's a formula for it somewhere; search around for it if you must.

From what ive heard, most people in the game have around level 10 or 11.

I think it's higher than that, but the point is it needs to be higher than what you currently have now.

If your report has one of the *HEADING*s (one of these: resources,fleet,defences,buildings,researches)
that means you have enough esp to see it,

if u can see one of these headings, but theres nothing there but the next heading, that means you can see it but they dont have any

if u can see a heading but nstraight afterwards the report ends, that mean u dont have enough esp tech to see the rest, send more probes

if cant see the heading that means your too low esp tech. either level up or send more probes, i find that increasing probes by 3 for every level you need it to go up by (thank to spankie) is more than enough
