Re: Top 10 Films of All Time
#2While it doesn't really belong in the top ten list you guys should check out "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time." I know it's been subbed and I'm 90% they dubbed it into English. It has an amazing soundtrack

Re: Top 10 Films of All Time
#5I will probably edit the list as I remember other movies, but I will try to list my top 10 off the top of my head.
1) Casablanca- One of the few black and whites I have had the patience to sit through. Well worth the reward. For my money, the best.
2) True Romance- I am a huge Tarentino fan. He didn't direct this one, but scripted it and produced it. I was lucky enough to see this in a sneak preview before it was officially released. It is typical Tarentino, so you must have a strong stomach for parts. The cast was absolutely great in this movie, though i was not a fan of some going into it...Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette (Alabama is so hot), Dennis Hopper (one of my all time favorite actors), Christoper Walken, James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt (though only on screen for a few minutes, absolutely hysterical as a stoner rooming with the protoganist's best friend). Rent this one if you can.
3) Its a Wonderful Life- Another black and whiter, but the most uplifting story you will ever find. James Stewart is perfect in the role.
4) Shawshank Redemption - I loved this movie the first time i saw it, but I enjoyed it more with each viewing.
5) Internal Affairs- Andy Garcia and Richard Gere are both great in this movie. Highly recommended.
6) Top Gun- I don't like Tom Cruise in most of the work he has done, but he was right for this role. Kelly Mcgillis was great and just so damn hot. Great movie.
7) Silence of the Lambs- The texture Anthony Hopkins brought to the character of Hannibal Lecter turned what could have easily been a cheesy movie into the greatest horror film for my money of all time.
8) The Resurrected - There are probably other films that I should put above this one, but being a huge HP Lovecraft fan and seeing all the horrible adaptations of his works, this one worked for me. This is definitely one you have not heard about it, but I would highly recommend it to any horror fan. For HPL fans who haven't seen it, it is loosely based on "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward".
9) Enter the Dragon - My favorite martial arts film of all time. Bruce Lee is amazing. The plot is weak, but it is only a vehicle to show off Bruce Lee's martial arts mastery and some of his philosophy. I don't care how he would do in a real fight. This is fun to watch.
10) Excalibur - This one should be higher on the list. Though mostly unknowns in the primary roles, it is the greatest and most visibly pleasing of the King Arthur adaptations and my favorite of the Sword and Sorcery genre.
Honorable Mention
Streetfighter - No, not the one based on the video game. That one was too corny for me too watch. This is the one with Sonny Chiba as the badass anti-hero protagonist. Like most martial arts films, the plot wasn't great. I loved it anyway.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon- great plot, great action
Reservoir Dogs- The first I saw of Tarentino, the action and dialogue blow you away. I don't care if the plot was stolen from another film. (It has been alleged that the plot mirrors a film from Hong Kong - sorry don't remember the details.)
Pulp Fiction - Another great Tarentino film.
12 Angry Men- Henry Fonda is spectacular as one of the "12 Angry men" who have to come to terms with their own agendas in deciding the guilt or innocence of a man being tried for murder. This movie will teach you more about the American Justice system than any class.
Godfather 1 & 2 - Considered by some to be the greatest of all time. Both are great, though I actually prefer GF2
