How about add the ranking for the top farmers tab instead of the top defenders tab?
you can collect the information from the returning rec missions with resources/ or the collection notifications.
that way at least its a better ranking to know who is doing to recycling in game rather than seeing the top defender.
also top climb is a no use ranking either. if you still wanna keep the weekly top defender then replace that gainer ranking with the farmer ranking. btw why do the game give medals to the defenders? they lost didnt they?

1) Generally, this will not be much distinguishable from top attacker. Presumably, the top attackers are recycling the fleets they down - and so this will generally reflect this (excepting, of course, the defence bashers)
2) This will reveal who the so-called 'debris field' thieves are, defeating the purpose to launching recyclers from moons (as well as the purpose to ACS defending inactives attacks upon which are caught on the lanx)
