Well I understand the generals universe was a big success. A lot of players gathered to prove their worth. And it really was fun to see that new leader board in that list. Competitions were ever higher.
Let me formally congratulate all the participants for making it exciting for all of us who couldnt participate but loved following up with the activities.
Anyways, let me discuss the topic here.
As it turns out like all the other universe Generals was a massive sellout due to ruby uses. Which in inadvertently put players who dont use rubies on the back foot. You have to admit ruby use gets you some where its hard to compete against. I have seen it on three different universes. I am sure many would concur this.
So I was thinking if Zorg would take a gamble with a new universe without any ruby advantages, I would want to call it the FREEDOM universe. Where you truly are on equal footing with rest of the players. Only your true efforts game play and dedications will push you farther up the ladder.
The game mechanics can be anything players can agreed on after discussing.
So was wondering what rest of you think of this idea?

#3Well that would sure put some who use rubies on the back foot for a start. Problem is why would Zorg fund a new server with no returns to pay for it? Next!

Re: Ruby less universe... FREEDOM a gift for the gamers!!
#4Very true. Nothing is truly free anymore so it seems. Some sort of entrance fee or an annual fee or something similar to that. This would undoubtedly limit the number of players in such a universe but I do like the idea of a universe without the Plus options. Even playing field all around. I would pay a reasonable amount for that.Sprog wrote:Problem is why would Zorg fund a new server with no returns to pay for it? Next!

#5Just to clarify here, Zorg's username is extremely misleading. He is not the owner of the game, therefore he cannot actually implement anything by himself. Zorg is the Community Administrator, which he has described as basically being a bridge between the playerbase and the rest of the admin team. Any gambles with the game code would be taken by the actual dev team, not Zorg.
As for the idea of a ruby free server, I'm in favor of it.

#6I know that there is a funding problem, but if they had the resources, I would probably be on there more. Then again, if most people played that, then Zorg might lose its ruby income. It might actually have to start enforcing a mandatory payment, or shut down the possible FREEDOM server altogether.
However, I believe the chance that this happens is actually less than it seems, and it takes much longer than expected.

If they ask for an entry fee. I would got for it as well. Just have to find a way for the payment for me. Right now I am not sure I can pay.

#10It's subscribing to the company that hosts this game. The more emails that subscribe to listen for a potential future Generals Tournament, it will be more likely to start up again.
