Week to arrive hits

#1
I've seen the latest way to try to annoy someone. It includes launching single RIP from G1 to G9 or from G9 to G1, on 10% speed... And also launch lots of them.

This could be very annoying to some players, maybe more annoying than seeing 200 espionage reports when you login. Overview page full of red fleets could be definitely annoying at first sight (before seeing like 120 or more hours till the hits arrive), and we're not talking about 1 or 2, we're talking about 10, 15, 20 (or possibly more) attacks...

According to me - this should be as punishable as scanning like 100-200 times.

Already contacted ZE Administration via email - and they asked for playerbase comments. So guys (and girls ofc), state your mind...

I totally agree this form of play is childish and imo..harassment..the same as spam... these attacks are not real attacks they are purely to annoy and cause grief to the other player... as you say a 20hr attack can not be classed as anything other than spam... I would like to see some form of rule on this type of attack/s.. such as sending 1 recycler on attack from g1 to g9..at 10% ..just such bad game play.. maybe a similar limit like MD's of no more than 4 long range attacks.per 24hrs.or if not a total ban on this type of tactic..

This tactic has been used for a long time..by players who can't play this game. It is nothing more than harassment and any form of such should mean an automatic ban.

This is like other strategies, there are cost and risk invovled.

my guess is that the intention (of sending many RIP attacks) is to disguise real attacks, but what if it fails? It takes away many of the attacker's fleet slots, for a long time. (Since they were sent from many galaxies away, at 10% speed, imagine the returning time.) That's the time that he can't use those slots to raid.

So I say leave it be. There is no need to be overly concerned. If you keep an eye on your fleet, nothing significant can be accomplished by this strategy.
Moo...

I had a player do this to me on standard, and as you can imagine that's even longer. It's nothing to get mad over, just watch and enjoy the fact that they can't raid, and you get some free pizza. I find it no more annoying then the fact that a single rip can wipe out all small ships, no matter what the fleet composition, or that a Lunar guardian can wipe out solar sats, no matter how many defenses or fleet sit there.

You can't complain about one, while you do the other. It's a tactic of the game, best you can do is adapt.

I am a smaller player right now. I use the tactic of sending a rec and a esp probe at 10% to the target that scanned me. its usually about a 3.5 hour trip. I do this for one main reason. As a small guy when the top players are looking to gun me down, its the only line of defense I have. If they get annoyed at me giving them 3.5 hours of red on their overview page, maybe they will leave me alone. And to all the following comments about how they will get mad and hunt me, well they already are so no diff.

I have to laugh at this BS post. A guy who sends 1 lunar guardian at multiple targets to destroy solar sats for a cheap hit and then leaves the debris field has the gall to accuse other players of harassment. I don't know where he learned to play but it obviously wasn't in Zorg uni's. Sorry to see Mark defending this amateur as I'm certain you would see it as we do if you were exposed to this guys moronic way of playing. His only motive is to try and draw somebody, anybody in to a pointless war.

this is the point of rips and small ships rj... right now you are attempting to change this fact towards protecting your fleets- perhaps you should consider fs -

@RJ: We're not talking about attacks that will really hit, but for attacks that are supposed to be recalled at some point, when the attacked is offline. You may have 12 or more hour range for "finding" the RIPs...

@ZORTON: Please, stay on topic.

@BFC: Read the part for RJ. Also, a quotation from the answer I received on email (Because you accuse me of spamming):
Open a forum topic about it in Game Discussion so the playerbase comments on this.

@all:
We're not talking about close attacks that are supposed to hide a real one - I've seen it, I've also used it (Ask logged about the using)... But we're talking about RIP trips, from G1 to G9, on 10%, that never hits... At me it was 116 hour trip - do you really believe that someone will actually hit at that time (when his raids are crippled)? If you still believe it - let's take any of the servers - in worst case the attacker will need 10 scans, which he could do 2 - 3 at time. Also will need safety check on nearby allied planets of his target. In best case for the attacking one - it'll be 30-40 scans in Speed or standard. But in massacre they could be 60-70-80, imagine in Xtreme - more than 100 I guess (21 planets, 21 moons, all allied planets and moons)...

You should try to word your post better, as you were talking about the latest way to annoy someone...

You were doing 1 LG launch to crash sats and not touch the DF just to annoy, so it really is the same thing. :roll:
