#11Yeah, but engines upgrades don't affect ships if they're in the air when the research finishes; they get faster after they land though

#12that's also the same with upgrading your Weapons, Shields, and armor. ships on a mission they wont be upgraded till they return.

#15Look for any empty slot in any galaxy
It is a slot with no planet there, you can send you colony ship there
