Re: Couple of questions about ships

#3
1. cargo ships have high cargo capacity so when you send them on an attack mission, they will load resources onto you ships and take them back, given there are no defenses and other fleet there. if there are, you would have to defeat those first, then get the resources. of course, cargo ships are not useful for destroying other ships, if you are a beginner, i recommend some light fighters.
2. i do not really understand this question clearly, in my opinion, it could be just a fleet sitting on your planet or an acs defend mission

your ships are "technically" in orbit when your fleet is on your planet, not on any mission

however, you can have an acs depot which allows you to acs defend a planet. which means you can acs defend your own planet, thus sending it into orbit.

these are the two idea from this question

3. you can find your point level on the OVERVIEW tab, scroll down to the points window

there u can find ur building, research, fleet, defense and overall points

hope this helped =)

As said cargo ships are mainly used for their hull cargo capacity. In a battle the war ships are used to demolish defensive array and defending ships but often they do not have enough cargo space to make a sizable raid out of each attacks. to increase the raid total cargo ships are added.

(*) also if you are attacking a player farther than your attack ships millage then often fleeters add cargo ships to carry the extra deut for the mission and send the attack ships farther.

There is only two state for a ship in this game. Either it is docked (docked on planet orbit/base station) or its on the fly on a mission. so if you are asking how u want to keep your ships away then yes the popular term would be on a mission. Other wise it is always on planet/moon orbit at a docked state.

(*) for farther understanding please look for fleet safe in the forum so you have a better understanding how the two states are handled in game.

Just to explain point levels for certain amount of resource uses you get 1 points. Varies from server to server.

As sunyujie explained they are best seen in the over view. also can be found on ur player card along with other details (player cards are accessible via clicking on your name on galaxy view/ranking page/search results).

You can find your general/fleet/building/research/defense ranks from the ranking pages.

ACS Depot is Alliance Combat System Depot. so it requires a second person to use it :)

so no for your planets u do not need acs to host ships. but for someone to acs defend you u need a depot on ur planet/moon. and for acs attack u need certain levels which is some what different. there are other threads explained those two in the forum. someone might be able to guide u there. its most probably in the help section.

Anyway just to be clear, does it mean that I need to build acs depots to allow my ships to "orbit" the planet?
It depends on what you mean by orbit. If your ships are grounded on the planet or moon (i.e. they are not on missions), then they will fight if you get attacked. They can be said to be in orbit around your planet. ACS Defense has more to do with other people wanted to orbit your planet and vice versa.

spartan119 wrote:Hi, Should I build cruisers for raiding? and who can I raid?
Generally battleships are the best for raiding once you have unlocked them, as they have a large cargo space. Also for raiding inactives use the cargo ships as they are most likely to have no defenses.

You can attack players between 5x your points and 5x below when you are in player protection.
Out of player protection you can attack anyone,
though the player protection rules apply if your target is in player protection.

I would like to share my view here.

This is what i preach in game for any player who has started. The following should be your Ship building queue if you want to be a raider. The list is to be followed as once u got to a certain ship count u should use that to get to the next ship count.

From 20 SC to 100 LC
100 LC to 200 LF
100 LF to HF/CR

at this point u are exploring more targets.
you should be focusing on Battleship unlock at this stage.

get 1000 Battleships + 500 Recs

use the above to unlock Battlecruisers.

Why use battle cruisers instead of battleships:

Battleships have a low armor and shield so they gets popped more often than battleships. also they have a slightly higher Rapid Fire receptivity than that of battlecruisers.

usually for raids u want to be able to push through defenses. that is why u need high shield.

also cost wise 2 BS=1 BC. but 1 BS takes as much deut to operate as 2 BC. and raid return wise 2 BC takes the same amount of res out of a bulk than 1 BS while 1 BC can go through a defensive array that takes 2 BS to complete.

so battlecruisers are a slightly better for raiding. it gets better when u have a good size of fleet.

about your question if u should use cruisers? Cruisers are the fastest ships in game but they cost huge to operate and they do not have a good range of attack radius.

try to think what would be the other best way to use them.... if u have a good cruiser fleet you can be dangerous in game ;) just a hint.
