POINTS
Ok, there are four different categories of points, Fleet, Building, Defense, and Research.
There are also three types of player, which are fleeters, turtles, and miners.
Miners go all out on gaining building points, which you get by building mines, or anything under the buildings tab.
Fleeters have mostly fleet points, and they attack and raid other players such as miners and turtles.
Turtles focus on defense points, which can be gained by building defenses. This is the slowest category if you want to grow up your empire.
Research has no definite archetype, considering the fact that research is the most expensive thing to do in this game.
One thing that might worry players is that their fleet points disappear when your fleet is in the air.
RANKING
The ranking menu is a list of players in descending order listed by how many points the player has, with the player with the mist points in the #1 spot. There are two types of ranking, Alliance and Player.
Player
In the player ranking menu, the players are listed in order from greatest to least. Some make it a personal goal to have a rival to beat in the ranking list.
Alliance
In this half of the ranking menu, all alliances are listed in order from greatest to least. Here it shows the total points the alliance has altogether. Then in the next column, it shows the average number of points of the players in the alliance by taking the total number of points and dividing it by the number of people in the alliance.
On both ranking menus, you can change the category of points you want to see. If you select general, you can see the total amount of points that every player has, except for the fleet they have in air. Then you can select either fleet, research, defense, or building to see how many points the players have in each category.
Hope this helps,
