Well, since this is the original topic, and we have wandered everywhere, there is no definitive answer on whether IPMs are worth it. Depending on who you are, IPMs can be worth it or not. Using myself as an example, I NEVER use IPMs, as they are resources spent that do not directly increase my strength, whereas putting into buildings or fleet would. However, back when I was a turtle :o , I use to use them on slight def so that I could LC raid. Usually, how I have understood it is, for small-time raiders, IPMs can be worth it IF there is a nice prize to be had. For fleeters, IPMs are almost always not worth it.

Another piece of interesting information:-

Rocket range 118 (Impulse Level 12)

Impulse engine upgraded, i got an extra range of 10 (lev.13)

So Would Imp. Level 14 go an extra 10 or more?. Also Do the rockets travel Faster?, i guess yes

Just read IKICKAYOUWASSNOW . I suppose you could have a big defence and just LCs, but the rocket range is too small (not enough targets) Plus most planets have Anti-Missiles

So maybe Ipms are useless after all ! But what about 1 rocket takes out 1 LARGE SHIELD (no-anti missiles)

only cost 12,500 Metal, 2,500 crystal, 10,000 Deut. Large Shield cost Metal 50,000 , 50,000 crystal, 750 deut.

It is handy if you bomb the hell out of someone and just send LCs. Providing good Res on planet.

Is Hard not to stray off topic!,but do people read page 2,3 etc? Answer with something about Topic too.

And I, myself, don't really think IPMs are worth it, unless the defense on a planet is just a little bit more than you can handle to take on the fleet, or to get to what's behind it. I could go on and on about this, and go into great detail, but a summery of my opinion is that they're not worth it.

A simple understanding of forum community should clear some of the misconceptions here, our moderators are not the information key holder here, please keep that in mind. They are doing a voluntary job here for the betterment of the community. So try to respect there effort and patience when it comes to handle situations like this.
This forum is for flow of information no matter from whom it comes from, ur questions should always be addressed to the community rather that asking moderators for solutions.

Coming to the original questions please try to grasp the following informations.

IPM specs
Structure points 15.000
Shield Strength 1
Attack Points 12.000

that means per IPM has a shied strength of 1 and attack point of 12000, most likely for that reason there is no second round for ipms.

the attack point defines the strength of IPM warhead.. it will try to break down the sheild of any defense array that u target on. do the calculations u will get what IPMs do.

Edit:: On the quarry on IPM speed, it is completely trivial and i dont see why it is not obvious that IPM impacts are instantaneous.
