Here is how I see it. These are roughly the maximums people will get, and I would guess only the top 50 could, and ven then a lot would be superfluous:
metal mine 36 (very few bother mining up this high)
crystal mine 32 (people with mines at levels like this know that crystal mines have terrible cost:output ratio)
deut synth 33 (very few bother mining this high
solar plant 30 (most will stop lower as sats are more efficient)
fusion reactor 15 (I would stop around level 5, sats are much better)
robot factory 15 (fast buildings are useless, most people stop at 10 for nanite)
nanite 8 (Have seen higher, but not common, way too expensive)
shipyard 20 (Only reason to go this high is to get yard 21 for instant BS, and that would require nanite 10, hardly ever see this high)
metal storage 10 (Your res shouldn't be on the planet for prolonged periods of time, past ~5 is useless)
crystal storage 10 (same as met storage)
deut storage 10 (same as met storage)
research lab 15 (only need these on up to 5 planets anyway, I stop at 12)
ACS depot 1 (broken, no gain by leveling)
silo 9 (too expensive for doing something unimportant)
This totals to 244 feilds. Is it possible to get higher, yes, but realistically you wouldn't need all the buildings, unless you want to own the scoreboard, or you like getting your building count up.
