Tales of Woe:
A Lesson on Fleet Saving:
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a Zorg player named TheFarmer. Farmer was a strong player. And I mean Strong! he made it into the top ten by his fleet. He decided that it cost too much deuterium to FS every day, so he stopped, figuring no one would dare attack his mighty fleet. Unfortunately, there was one. TheFarmer awoke one morning unable to farm, for his fleet was destroyed and recycled. It looked like Gumppy had run right into it. TheFarmer know knows: FLEET SAVE. You're never too big
A Fleet Save Narrative:
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a Zorg player named Anonymous. Anonymous was an avid fleeter. He built a very nice fleet and reached into the top 100 fleeters of the game. He always fleet saved. However, he sent his fleet to other planets and sometimes DFs instead of moons. He was unaware that this was an error until it was too late. He was online one day waiting for his FS to come back. Then suddenly, a section of Red appeared on his overview. It was attacking his planet, and it would hit one second after his FS returned. There was nothing he could do. He sent PMs begging the attacker to stop, but to no avail. Poor old Anonymous was watching his fleet crash approach. He logged off. He didn't want to see it happen. The next day, he looked. There was the truth in his combat reports. His fleet had been ransacked and recycled by a true wild animal, a Squirreloncrack. Anonymous would never forget: FLEET SAVE. And do it correctly (to a moon) so you can't get lanxed.
A Small Fleet Save Story:
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a Zorg player named BillyBobJoe. Billy was just a newbie at this game, and he had just begun to read the forums. He realized that a lot of people said to fleet save. However, he also noticed that all of these were very strong players. Billy decided that he wouldn't fleet save until he got higher points. Unfortunately for him, his fleet looked tasty to another player who was able to attack him. Poor old BillyBob came online one evening to see his fleet destroyed and resources reduced. He regretted his poor decision to not fleet save. He will never forget this little lesson he has learned. FLEET SAVE. You're never too small.
An Unforgettable Fleet Save Fable:
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a Zorg player named ForgetfulFred. Now, Fred was a very good zorg player. He always fleet saved before logging off, and he used his resources wisely. Using this strategy, he eventually gained enough points to put him in a very high ranked position. However, poor Fred was forgetful. One night he forgot to send his fleet on a fleet save. When he checked Zorg the next morning, to his dismay, his fleet was nowhere to be found. Fred looked in his messages and found a combat report that told him exactly what had happened. Alas, it was sad but true, for Sadbutrue had crashed poor Fred's fleet. Now Fred never forgets this lesson he has learned. FLEET SAVE. And don't forget....
A Tale of Joy:
A Fleet Save Dissertation:
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a Zorg player named Mickey. Mickey was a good all around Zorg player. He always fleet saved, and always did it correctly. His rise to the top was swift, and there he stayed, for no one was able to find his fleet, or harm it if they did. Mickey truly was an amazing player. He stayed on top a long long time, and lived happily ever after....
Epilogue: There ya have it. Some fleet saving fairy tales to teach you the importance of FSing. Now, fleet saving is the process of sending your fleet and resources on a prolonged mission to protect them while you are offline or otherwise handicapped. The best method is to send your ships at one of your own moons, as this is invisible to the Sensor Phalanx. If you don't have a moon at the optimal distance, you can also attack the moons of an inactive player or send your ships to an alliance mate's moon and recall them before they get there. These are also invisible to the Lanx. Other forms of fleet saving include sending your ships on a recycle mission or on an attack mission to a planet somewhere. These are ok if you don't have a moon and you are a relatively weak player, but switch to a moon ASAP. Fleet saving is vital to getting to the top in this game. Thanks for reading.
