Am I wrong, or the shields doesn't regenerate at combat, if this is the case, then the shield will be an extension of the armour & will be worthless to research because of the following argument:
As the simulator shows me, a ship that suffers a damage of 10% of its armour value get destroyed, 10% of the armour of every fighting ship is always more than its shield.
So is there anything I am missing here?

#2Shield does not regenerate in combat, they changed it months ago for balance

#3Then my conclusion is correct, if I concentrate on upgrading the armour & just forget about the shields, I will have a better fighting chance, if not then please show me where I went wrong.
second matter:
now this rapid-fire thing is a little confusing
if I this kind of fleet:
1 death star
100 battle cruiser
100 destroyer
VS
100 lunar guardian
1) The lunar guardian should choose the death star as a target & get his rapid-fire, will this always happen, I have simulated this a lot & it always get multiple attacks.
2) the other fleet also gets rapid-fire, but who will decide the rapid-fire rate, the battle cruiser who has the fast speed or the destroyer who has the biggest rate?

#4Rapid fire has some variables. The biggest one is what the opposition contains, and then rapid fire varies by the battle engine. as i recall, rapid fire is a game of chance

#5They claim shields don't recharge but why is it in my combat reports when I look the large shield dome has more shields in the second round than in the first rounds. Seems the small and large shield domes indeed to regen shields still...Desert_Reaper wrote:Shield does not regenerate in combat, they changed it months ago for balance

#6Your theory might be true if you use single RIP attacks. But don't be mislead.Blame wrote:Then my conclusion is correct, if I concentrate on upgrading the armour & just forget about the shields, I will have a better fighting chance, if not then please show me where I went wrong.
With more ships, loosing 50% of armor might mean loosing 50% of the fleet.
On the other hand, you will only start loosing ships when they no longer have shields.
Shield is most important at first rounds where "all" ships at both sides fire.
If you are going for decisive wins you will mostly aim for crashing the enemy at the first round.
In theory, if you are always aiming for no loss, you can go all out on shields and just ignore armor.

#7Now this I didn't see.
Thanks a lot neoshagrath for saving me from losing tons of my ships, shields are now real cool.

#8Another question:
How are the points of the fleet calculated?
how much is a Deathstar worth, and how much for the other ships?
thank you

Re: Another noob needs help
#9For standard, you get 1 point for every 1000 units of resources you spend. For all other servers it is 5000 resources spent=1 point.
As far as the specifics you asked for, the ship costs tend to differ from server to server so you'd have to do that math yourself

Phlanx-standard universe
can the phlanx see:
1- fleet coming from a moon to its own planet?
2- a fleet of someone else coming from a moon to defend another players planet?
Q2:
when there is an activity on the moon, it doesn't reset the counter on the planet in the galaxy map... is this correct?
Error:
I used to have a planet & it had a moon in slot 1, abandoned the planet but slot 1 still cant be colonized & the moon is still there although it doesn't show on the galaxy map
a trade went wrong & was delivered to the moon there & I attacked it & got the res, when I tried to attack the planet I got "action impossible".
