@ Oz: My point is it seemed a comparatively good deal of deut to consume for what equates to some 600,000 deuterium profit (at prevailing exchange rates). I'm a deuterium miser. The gamble worked - but is certainly one I would have thought twice about given my miserly nature

Lol, I understand what you are saying your "Scroogeness", but I am just saying that some have more deut than others. The nature of the small fleet that was sitting, DF collected. Sometimes the need for metal, moreso crystal, balances the deut expended. I never have a shortage of deut. Only when I get to 20-30 million deut for one attack would I consider launching or not. That's just me I know. But, some are worse off than I, others have more.
