There is no obligation to do so, or indeed, post CR's at all. If in a war a player wishes to post a combat report, it's at their discretion, whether damage has been sustained or not. The loss of resources is equally as bad sustaining losses in the form of damage to defences or fleets lost. I would imagine that losing resources could even be considered worse than losing fleets or Defences. Losing fleets leaves a debris field that does not include deut. Again, losing defences leaves no debris at all! Losing resources, of any type is bad especially if it includes deut.
As your alliance colleague has learned at your insistence, to his cost!
If you feel the need to add things up, please do so.
