Regarding Legends though, I have stated it before and will state it again: A Living Legend is always better than a dead(inactive) Legend.
Agreed.

Not when you have experienced the gameplay quality of both eras, I think it is safe to say the skill level of the old legends is higher than that of todays "easy button" legends.

Locked - Gale

Why? Because this topic is not active for the right reason. It's gradually gone downhill and I knew it would crash soon...and it has. I've seen reports and messages (in-game and in-forum) of people taking this topic way too seriously.

For those of you who didn't know, this is a game. That means it's not real. It doesn't matter. It's for fun. It's really awesome to talk about the good 'ol days or legends of the game...but when people blow things way out of proportion with their egos, we get trouble. Players (as in more than one) suddenly have become victims or unliked... Can we knock this off and act like adults playing a game for fun?...

If you have questions or comments towards me about why I saw fit to lock this topic of my own decision, please feel free to message me, as I'm more than happy to communicate for a (hopefully) positive resolution.

Thank you,
Gale

Unlocked...

This thread is too popular to be locked and is also linked to front-page quote Where Legends play, it cannot be locked. All parties can show some good manners and keep it at a good level.

I'd say so as well
I would've really liked to meet these older players to see if they are truly of a higher quality than today's.

I lol'd. Seriously, there have been great players from both eras. In regards to both Ista and to Zorg, I have to say yous are both dead wrong. To Zorg, todays players are not all better than the ones before, and to Ista, the top ones before were/are not way better than today. Broad statements like these when talking about a simple game full of skilled players at it make no sense. Yes, the biggest LEGENDS ever don't play anymore, but there is a lot of SKILL still left. I think that if they plopped all the top players now with all the legends before all against each other, people would STILL make mistakes both ways, as nobody is perfect and to succeed in this game you need luck as well as skill and a lot of time to kill...
