being friendly and formal also helps a lot, people want to be with other people when they are able to stand them out.
followers follow a wise person so learn and teach each other a lot.

Another thing people look for (or should look for) when joining an alliance is experience. It's great to be ambitious and all, but I still say wait before making your first alliance.

I remember what it was like to start my own alliance (this was only like 6 weeks ago). I tried other alliances, but I realized that I didn't want to live by anyone else's rules. So, I made my own. After a couple of weeks, though, I got bored with being leader, transfered the alliance to Weapon_X15, and quit. That was about two days ago...

Anyway, I think you would be very capable of leading your own alliance, jch.
So, I think It would be great to be a part of this. I just applied!

The League of Slowly taking shape. Picked up four new members, organized ranks and sent a couple of messages. We still need more dedicated recruits. No point requirement. Just have to stay active and interested.
