I don't know about other universes, but I was just five minutes ago attacked by one of the top players in the game. He destroyed my entire fleet, and took over 3 million resources. To him, it was probably one of 20 raids he does every day, to me it was well over a week of lost game time. I have played this game A LOT in the past month since rejoining, and this "protection" is terrible. A player with 29000 times as many points as me could attack right now if it struck his fancy. This is crazy. It needs to be changed. I am mad.

Sorry for your loss, but that part I quoted says it all. No profit = no attack (with the exception of just plain having some fun with someone who rubbed you the wrong way). Learn proper techniques for keeping your fleet and your resources safe. Plenty of info about that on the forums and if you are willing to ask, plenty of experienced players who are willing to answer any questions you have. We've all started at the bottom and had to work our way up from there, overcoming many of the same obstacles.

Also, I believe that increasing player protection in Speed has been suggested before with no luck.
