Looking at the number of Vmoders and quitters in Massacre, and that there have been many requests to do SOMETHING about it (nothing being done though) - I make another (vain) request to increase the resource holding limit of every planet to 1.1 Million like Extreme's.

Would that not help the ones who raid 24/7 or have account sitters? ....... :)

:boohoo: They usually vmode after they get hit. It's a war game folks. Expect to get your butt handed to you at least once or twice. I lost 80% of my fleet in one day cause I looked away for a grand total of 5-10 minutes. As for the people quitting, the first week or so you can't really do much. Your mines are too weak to get the important stuff and your raids are very limited. The only way to jump that hump is to have an alliance that helps you get some starter resources, imperial support, or rubies. Most people if they quit about half of them (in my guess) will quit in the first week. Others quit if their fleet gets crashed or if they get bored. :think:

Helps both in my opinion, the raiders and the newbies.
Raiders - you know it how.
Newbies - They don't have to bother about building Storage Early up in the game if they're really not very active.
Gives them a chance to store larger amount of res for quick development.

@Silver
Yes, the spirit of the game is missing.. I've had friends VM after the hit. People often get bored over the hit and VM - okay that's understandable but then you don't come out of it ever? Not expected!
I understand how it feels on losing a fleet.. have lost it thrice already in M (and have luckily rebuilt), I too went VM, but I made sure I came back and had fun. Its a war game - you hit or get hit simple as that but only a limited amount of players understand that.
Be smart, FS properly, make sure you utilize your res on every planet before you log out so there are no chances of getting raided. Buy no! take things too lightly and end up crying.

Lol yes. I know that but most people are easily bashed into submission. If they get hit too badly they just say eh whatever, I'm done. :lol:

I got 0 resources from start and don't buy rubies so how did I make it to the top in Massacre?

Knowing numbers, balancing where to put res and playing active enough to not be profitable. Game gives enough possible playing styles and strategic options to do well.

The problem of inactive and VM players is not just confined to massacre in my opinion. It comes down to finding ways to keep new players in the game, which to a certain degree relies on the choices of more advanced players.

I've seen many raids on active players for paltry sums of resources. For players who are new to this game and especially for those who are new to this type of game, having little chance to learn and grow due to being hit for meager profit is very discouraging and ultimately ends in just quitting the game all together.

Increasing the storage capacity really doesn't seem like a solution to anything in my opinion except for helping more active raiders gain more in the end.

Choke has a point. I recommend all new players get started with say 20,000 of each resource.

It's really not that big an amount of resources and will save them hours of doing nothing on their first day. That's why so many players go inactive with ZERO points.
