How about a server generated report on battles that happen daily or weekly?
Include details like:

1. Who was fighting
2. Location
3. Winner
4. Amount lost
5. Amount won

No need for greater details. Could be written like a brief news report

See the newspaper suggestion. Still, mentioning time & player can lead to ninja attacks and this will be avoided. Newsflash for such events will be delayed and not instant.
