The example that I put together below should pretty much describe most of it. When looking at the "Inside Spaceship" background that's available in-game, I thought it might be kind of neat to have a matching menu. Then I came to think that a lot of things have gone through updates, even appearances, except for the menu. The menu is the key to the entire game. So shouldn't it more closely resemble a control panel? I mean, this is a sci-fi game , and I like to feel awesome.

All it would be is an image with hyperlinks, just like it is now, just redesigned. And obviously much more profesional looking...

Also, I thought about the position of the menu. I always have issues on my computer when I get to the forums through the menu. I can't see the right side of the forums at all and always have to scroll. I also have OCD and like things to be centered. I honestly think it'd be more convenient for the menu to be across the bottom of the screen. Then the only scrolling involved would be up and down.

My first impression was that it looks cooler than the present menu, but it is also more spread out. I like the compactness of the present menu - I think it is more convenient. Of course, that may be just because I am used to it.

Personally, I think that the new layout should be an option that is controllable in Options menu. That way, if you prefer the original layout, you can make the selection in Options.

It already is in Beta. There's just a problem with getting rid of the old menu and putting the new one in.

There's an option to use the old menu if you'd rather not use the new one.

But my make-shift image is also just an example. I'm really just stressing the design quality and position. Has the BETA menu been fully designed yet?
