i would LOVE to see a possibility for the moon to increase its diameter IF a MD mission fails. For example if a moon destruction mission fails the diameter would have a % chance of growing from 1% to 10% depending on the amount of RIPS involved. You could use the same % chance as the MD % so if you send 1 RIP you have a 25% chance for the mission to succeed on a moon with a 5.6k diameter. IF the mission fails AND the RIPS blow up, you have a 25% chance for the moon to increase by 1-10%. That makes MD missions even more dangerous to do.

No, because what happens if someone has a 9999 diameter moon?
Do they then get an increase to the unpoppable 10k moon.

I am against. We would all just destroy our own rips continually on friends moons to give each other un-poppable moons.

maybe make the percentage extremely lower as the moon increases in size eventually making it cost an ungodly amount to get an unpoppable moon or something along those lines?

Considering 10k moons aren't possible anymore, I don't think it would be a problem. And if it were possible then 10k+ would also, and that would break the MD equation.

the inherent % game would be that a great amount of risk would be involved. It would have to be a moon destruction mission which would give your friends a chance of getting thier moons destroyed. It could be considered that the % chance and % increase diminish as the moon gets bigger as well, so the smaller moons would have a greater probability of growth and a larger, say anything over 8.5k would have very small amounts up to 9.5k max for chance to increase size.
The intent is for the "foe" to consider that they may be assisting the enemy in the long run, thus calculating a MS on a heated whim less likely.
As for teh friend assistance theory, we already do that. If we get a moon and its too small, we blow it up and try again so in theory, the cost of multiple BS runs vs the cost of losing multiple RIPS or the moon actually blowing up is much less.
I agree that the % increase could be lessened to .1% - 1%

Any md already is a chance to help defender. With the new moon destruct rules and a guaranteed chance of backfire, any attacker would be stupid to overkill and risk everything. As a result, defenders have the chance to ninja the oncoming attacks.
