Moon destruction needs changing

#1
Ok so the MS destruction was implenented and changed to 99%... Well now its changed that the second percentage needs changing because how it stands is a load of crap.

Ok so in the last week with 20 ms within the alliance twice we have had the 1% fail, luckily second time around no rips were lost but still... If you send over 3 times the amount then no way should it fail at 99% its just rediculous.

There is obviously a problem with the maths or something in game because im sorry 99% is pretty much a banker and out of around 20 ms, no way in the world should it happen twice.

Im electing either the stupid introduction of it goes back to 100% if you have the required RIPs or the percentage on the return is dramtically lowered to show more realism on this.

Hopefully the Oracle will come in and add the good stuff for me to add.

This is such a stupid addition and its just a way to really give the game a negative.

Lol, the math speaks for itself. It is a tiny chance your fleet will be destroyed, you just got bad luck. It's an act of chance, which is the clear explanation, it is just chance, your fleet could have landed the 1% fail each and every one of those 20 tries (unlikely, but as with every other game of chance, possible) and there would still be no flaw in the math. MD's were never meant to be an easy button, if you don't like the risk don't take the shot. After all, that's what fleeting is about.

Still amazes me how it's such a big deal here and yet it's a normal and accepted thing in every other ZE style universe. Moon destruction is the last resort of fleeting, accept the fact that you are going to have to take a risk.

It's like Neo said, there is never more than a 0.5% total chance you will lose your fleet on an MD mission assuming you send enough for 99% destruction, and even that is with very large moons. On average size moons it's usually more in the range of a 0.3% total chance. I really can't see why you want that reducing even more.

To put it more into perspective. Even if you have such crappy luck that you do indeed hit the 1% fail, you still only have a 50% maximum chance of losing your stuff after hitting that 1%, and that is assuming you are trying to destroy a large moon..

The risk isn't at 99%. The success is. It's just like when doing moonshots: in theory, about 1 in 5 should give a moon. However, if you ask anybody, it doesn't always work exactly like that. Sending three times what you need for a 99% chance is, in my opinion, pointless. Send enough to get the job done and don't risk the rest of your RIPs.

Not only pointless, but completely self harming. It's basically taunting the chance engine to trash your stuff.

Well the risk may as well be. I just think it needs tweeking a bit
What can you tweek? The risk is already just 0.2% - 0.5%, what do you want, 0.1%?
