Way better noob helping systems
1. Coaching system.
Each player that has at least 1 mil points and is at least 1 year old should be able to coach 3 new players... they have to be on a list like friend list and he whould recive rubies if they are active, like the refferal system but instead of point system with their time spent on zorg.
If a new player spent 50 h on zorg 5 rubies; 100-10 rubies or something, further more they would be required to send and recive 10 messages or something during a week or they would permanently loose the ability to be coached by that player. (force the social part of the game to be used!!! that's why we have so few players)
you should be able to coach any new players and add them to your coaching list, a sub section of friend's list or something... if the coached player does not send any messages for a week he should be removed from the list or something... you get the point, this will actually have a great impact as new players do not get invovled in the game so fast and are rapidly turned to farms.
2. A more interesting noob protection system that forces you to play.
Till 100k 5 times the player size after 100k the value should be ajusted to 10-15(at maximum) times the player size BUT the player has to reach 1 milion points in 6 or 8 months(that imo is highly exagerated) or else he will be removed from protection till he reaches 1 milion points. This interactive system will eradicate super noobs and give you a reason to be active and play you'r hardest to reach 1 milion points. There should be a list with players that did not made it to 1 mil points and are now not protected... and 1 mil points not counting the fleet points...
This will also ballance the game and give it an increasing difficulty as the game progresses. The new players no longer have to face titans and that will give them a psichological reason to stay. at 100k and if you are a new player, when you see a 100 milion points player and you think to yourself it took you a month to reach that lvl and you styart to get farmed.... you are really going to question your reasons for this game.
This will actually make the game more interactive as the top players will have mature players to hunt... no longer going for BS fleets like 100k in size or something and the small fry will go up and know that he plays in his own league.


On the marketing aspect of the game i think it needs some new simple and yet motivating ideas.

1)A special "share on fb" and "share on tweeter" weekly reward... of rubies 5-10 rubies or any value in between...
This is a psichological push to log in at least once a week, and increases your marketing for free. let's assume that only 3% actually give a player and that would and might give a healthy stream of at least 10 new players a week and combined with the coaching system it would make at least 3-4 players stay each week ... that may not seem much but it means 12 new players on each server every month and that is something, given the rate will be exponential. Also ou'r share on fb should go with your refferal code and so on....

2)Video tutorials can be found on youtube but you can not find the refferal in game or the link in game.... a simple thing like that in game tutorials could greatly increase the accesibility of information for new players...

3) share a forum thread on the group wall on fb... to be discussed both ways

4)Offer rewards for top coaches of the year, not rubies but something cool like 1 free tech upgrade or 1 free building uograde or 50k-100k of fleet for free or something like that

5) reward the top climber of the week with some resourcess... mostly noobs win that award....

6) reward the top defender of the week (aka looser of the week) with some resourcess.

8) increase the def regeneration ratio to at least 75 %... bashing is also a big issue when it comes to long time gameplay.

9) This should be the last on the agenda but zorg is long overdue for some graphical upgrades... it's not hard to make 3-4 skins with tranzitions and a few baisic html effects... nothing fancy and not pictures as most would think... a tranzitional rainbow effect, a girlish theme with cats and ****, a war theme with a different background.... html 5 offers so many options and fast response times that a fully animated menu would only take 5kb or something and that would give a fast response time and you can leave this old school system for mobile phones...

These solutions may not work in new servers but as the game progresses ... beyond 10 mil points it becomes uneven and unballanced and it has to be fixed... i doubt that when you first started on these games you thought they were created for players of the size there are now and i think most would agree with me on some of these perspectives....
All the suggestions i offered only take a lil programing and they will offer some wicked results... it takes like 3 days tops to implement the hardest of the suggestioins, like coaching system or the new noob protection and the sare on fb and share on tweeter are less than 100 lines of programing and a timer...

As it is now the game needs stiches otherwise it will slowly die of old age

WELL.... yes and no and who cares... 1 would of been too long imo..
Another idea i did not post would be a clever reward system... this is what i mean- resources granted when you reach a certain point:
1000 points- 1 mil.500k/250k
5000 points 2 mil/1 mil/500k
10000 points 5 mil /2.5 mil/1 mil
50.000 points 10 mil/5 mil/ 2.5 mil
100k points 10 mil/5mil/2.5 mil
500k points 25 mil/10 mil/ 5 mil
1 mil points 50 mil/25 mil/10 mil

The reward system is nonlinear and has to be designed to do 2 things- help a player more in the first part of the game and not really help him in the last part of the game, for a player under 10k points those milions of res seem very exciting because they are not used to dealing with res like that... but slowly the ratio of res to points decreases but not enough to no longer seem interesting- sure 50 mil met will seem a big deal at 100k points or at 50k points but they are a one day of production and 3 hours of raiding at a milion points.... the idea is to trick new players into the gameplay and not actually give them an advantage....

another idea would be a roulette system that involves rubies for various winnings... and also for nothing... like a chance system... to give the players options to spend their new earned rubies and stuff... winnings like resources, a day of 25% extra metal ... the winnings beeing far more profitable than the imperial suport and yet rare... usually mentaining the profit at the same lvl as the other costs... 1 ruby per game le'ts say and each option with it's own chance... adding a lil more variety in how to spend rubies

Hmmm, I agree with the first part Not so much the Roulette idea in the latter part.

As an incentive, how about for every day you login, you get one ruby. Not per login, but one per day for each day you login. In a year, 365 rubies? This has a cut off when you reach the protection level for that server that you are in?

The splitting of your topics, as a reader of posts, it makes me want to ignore part one. Opening part two, where the points raised seem excellent, I feel that I might be missing something in part one and have to jump back and forth.

you can delete the first now... and 1 ruby per day just for login is not a good idea... they whould have to work for them and not just recive them... gives the player a feeling of achivement and pleasure... pavlovian system applies to gaming more thant you imagine... you have to think the game thro that aspect

and also the rubies must not be that many and you have to add a little addictive gambling to the process that is why i would go for the roulette system... sometimes it's money sometimes it's an increase in mining sometimes its an increase in queue sometimes a deacrease in research time.... but it has to be within the boundries of the system... for example 15% weapons fire for 7 days costs 2 rubies so you might make it a 30 day and give it a one in 10 chance but after you get something you should reset those chances.... that would be the general idea make the costs under 10% more expensive but add somehting you can not buy so that the consumption would increase and there would still be interest... i am talking from a profit point of view... plus you need a way to spend the influx of new rubies from the rewards system...

the idea is not to offset the ballance of power and the flow of cash and rubies... further more to stop the traiding of rubies for resourcess.... let's say a 1 in 100 chance of earning 20 times the imperial support amount... more ways to spend your rubies and therefor not reducing the bought rubies amount... it is a a fake gift system...

But one ruby would not break the bank for ZORG. Respondent Conditioning is valid, but to have a ruby per day is more likely to encourage those players to salivate at that reward than not. FB sharing, I disagree. The number of people that I have tried to encourage through that media, not a single one has ever taken up the offer to join this game.

Rubies are the bread and butter of Zorg. The issue with rewards being more resources based is a great idea, as you mentioned in your previous posts. BUt the odd ruby here and there is a lot more valuable to players than mere resources. But the one a day issue, if you joined the game, got 1 a day for login in, they would ultimately build up. Those players would keep coming back.
