Player Protection - suggest modification

#1
Why do we have a max cap on protection for noobs?

Instead I suggest a layered protection for all players.

Example:

(1) Someone over 5 times your points cannot attack you..
(2) You cannot attack someone 5 times lower in points..

Benefit of this change:

(1) This should work for all players
(2) It would generate more interest in the game for new and experienced players alike.
(3) New players would be more likely to stay around longer to learn the rules and become veterans.

I would like this discussion to eventually have a vote.
Please don't flame me or my suggestion. Just discuss the pros and cons.

Thanks.

This sort of thing has been raised before.

There is new player protection. Different in different servers, but it is there.

Standard. 1 Million point protection.

It is the individuals responsibility to keep their stuff safe. If they cannot or will not learn, and there are players around like this, then you lose your stuff. That is the game, that's how the dynamics of the game work. There is newb protection, below that protection the 5 X scores apply.

I feel there is no further reason to increase that above and beyond what is already in place. Perhaps an increase of new player protection in different servers may be warranted. Standard, I don't think this should apply. 1 MIllion points is plenty of time to learn in (or not as is the case with some.)

Sprog wrote:How about Noob protection is lost on a permanent basis the moment they decide to hit a target 5 x their own points....or lose noob protection after 3-6 months regardless of points....they are hardly a noob after that amount of time....but this has all been mentioned before and we are going over old ground again ....

Great idea. The latter part I mean.

How about a counter proposal. Rather than having the fleet count towards your points no matter if it is lifted or not, why don't we just have a new variable within the coding of the game. This variable would be the highest amount of points this player has ever reached.

This would result in a player being held accountable for the size of his/her account regardless if higher players would be able to attack them when their fleet was up at the previous update.

notice how only players with millions of points say no, i say yes, if you are not a lower player you should mreally have no say as protection does not concern you as much as it does us. zorg plz take into consideration only people witn millions of points is against it, while us under 500k thinks it would help us and keep the game growing. the way it has been is not helping as numbers show. try something diffrent listen to the little players about what they want for protection instead of listening to the ones that bash them to death

I give a solid proposal that would eliminate super noobs, and would still give the protection to the smaller players to be able to grow. If a player is 2.000.000 points with their fleet down, but only 150k points with their fleet up, they would not be able to be attacked by someone who could attack that fleet. (This would be a player who has found a loop hole to avoid protection.)

However, if the highest amount of points would be documented, That 2.000.000 fleet point player would be able to be attacked by the people they should be competing against.

and what happens when the so called super noob loses his fleet by ur standerd he then would be at 150k getting hit by the multi million ppl. thus pretty much insuring he leaves the game. and thats something zorg nor anyone in the community should want. as u said it would document his 2000000 fleet he no longer has but since he had one he would be able to get hit even under 150k. everyone losses fleets its only a matter of time before any super noob loses theirs even me. i dont mind your idea if it made it so once they lost their fleet they could not be farmed at 150k points,

I kinda think 100,000 is a good protection rank. At a certain point, you'll really be limiting the number of active players medium and big players can target. I think what would be more helpful than a higher protection would be a more extensive starter guide. One that explained the basics such as how to launch your first raid, what fleetsaving is, and how moons worked. I'm not saying tell them everything, but just the basics. This just my opinion but once you know how to fleetsave and how moons work, you can dodge.
