Better organization of planets and moons

#1
I don't know what other people think, but I find it incredibly burdensome to switch from planet to planet, I mean the menu is a complete mess once you have more than 10 colonies, several with moons. So what I propose is is a new pull out menu organization. Perhaps more customizable than the current "Alphabetical," "Date of Colonization," "Coordinate" options.

My first idea is something like this:

Colony A Colony A's moon
Colony B Colony B's moon
Colony C
Colony D Colony D's moon

This would separate planets from moons making it much easier to navigate.

OR you could create some way of players designing their own layout, 100% customizable. Although, I imagine that could be quite hard.

Thoughts?

(I feel like this has been suggested before but I couldn't really find it anywhere so here it is again.)

its good enough already imo. who cant recognise his own moons and that wich planet they belong to?
but more options wont hurt...
i never coded anything on web yet but i dun think adding this needs much effort.

It's a nice idea, but the simple solution is to develop your own naming system and pay attention to where you launch your fleets. And if you look carefully, I believe the menu even shows you the coordinates for the location, so if 2 locations have the exact same coords, one's a planet and one's a moon. The fleet launch menu even provides these coords.

Expanding on developing your own naming system: Pen/Pencil and Paper are still great.

if you have moons on all planets then the odd ones are your planets and even ones are your moons till ur current planet or moon that u are selected on. after that the order changes from even for planets odds for planets.

also if u sort it per coordinate u get planets first the associated moons followed by them.

I think its a pretty decent way to organize. but if you are still finding it hard then try as dr said naming conventions of your own that u can trace easily.

isn't he asking for a 2 item per line drop down menu... as opposed to the current 1 item per line standard menu...

he's trying to overcome the display limit fro the length of the menu...

is that another possibility can the length of the drop down menu be change to display all 40 possible locations?
