Still wanna say no to a damage increase. Like I said in my first post, a little determination goes a long way in making IPMs worth the effort. I have, on several occasions, made someone angry enough to wipe out the entire defense on a colony or two. They are fine the way they are. Annoying as all hell, but work just fine.

I should elaborate on my point of view

It's the deuterium cost that makes IPM not cost-effective.

After waste target's ABMs, (which cost a lot less) IPM is only worth it if you target expensive defenses, specifically the Domes. It costs too much deuterium to kill LL and RF, most players juts opt to send more ships instead of using IPM.

I know choke use it, that's a personal preference. But if we do a poll, to see how many fleeters actually use IPM, we will find out that very very few use them, and usually under specific circumstances. That itself should speak something about the effectiveness of the weapon.

i.e. I used 10 IPM and destroyed 800 LL on a target player who has less WSA, that costed 100k deut, with 100k deut i could have send in another 1500 BC which will destroy a lot more LL.

I use bombers usually because it comes back...but I'm getting where your coming from......yes due to what you have said If they do increase (Which I'm still a little wary about), that it shouldn't be a major damage improvement...if anything put it in massacre. ;).

Good how it is. No bash rule on it, and IPM are cheap. Just would make more imbalance to turtles if it became more powerful with my mines lvls able to mass IPMs into epic launches then

Let's say the heavy defender held 100 ABM at the planet, so you need to spend 1 million deuterium launching IPM (not mentioning the metal and crystal) just to get rid of the ABMs and you haven't even touched his defense yet

anyways i don't see any point continuing this thread, most people disagree and it's not a big deal
