if i recall correctly i once suggested turning inactive accounts into an NPC faction, then rather than just lose those accounts, they could become useful to the game

This idea is great, as long as those NPC's dont be a "easy food"... I mean raiding inactives is no fun... If we turn them into NPC's it'll be more challenging.

You are talking about changing the very basic structure of the game here, turning inactives into NPC's? You probably have more chance of walking outside your house and being struck by lightning right now than a change like that ever going through.

Think about how these things will affect gameplay before you suggest them, NPC's could very well work, but only if done very carefully and only if they do not destroy the basic components of this game, i.e. raiding inactives for income.

easy enough, make it so that after a certain period of time an inactive account automatically becomes an NPC

I would back this Idea in a new server development..on existing servers I would have to say it would just give the Giga-Accounts easier and more plentiful bounty than what they already enjoy. Other than imposing point limits on who can engage the NPC's..no other outcome could occur. It would most likely throw the Scoreboard out of whack. (attackers/defenders).

Generally, the game is intense PvP oriented (Player VS Player).
The only PvE (Player vs Environment) function is Expedition which is at large... BROKEN.

We will reform expeditions soon (we used them in a pretty nifty way in Generals universe I think) to make them a lot more interesting (based on player suggestions, some of them approved already).

However, this should be also about the end of our interest on PvE. It is much more important to put even more effort in PvP either with new/extended strategies or with improved interface (I think ZE currently has the BEST interface anyway, although not an eye candy). Since they have been mentioned, the tutorial missions will mostly have to do with planet setup as well as how to engage other users.

So Istalris, is about right in his extreme quote. :lol:

Being an old school fan of such text based games as one favorite based on a certain Douglas Adams novel, I must say that one thing that attracted me to this game was precisely how this is not 'eye candy' :D
