DF Defender/ Interceptor

#1
With the size of debris fields increasing also comes with the risk of DF thieves, reducing profits greatly empires across the universe sought ways to protect their plunder. AS well as the need to protect DF's came the need to quickly eliminate enemy recyclers and steal larger amounts of your enemies plunder. The evolution of the DF defender and the DF Interceptor became crucial to all successful empires.

DF Defender
The DF Defender was engineered to protect large debris fields from enemies. An empire will send the DF Defender pre-attack to where an impending attack will occur, sent to X:XXX:XX DF, the DF Defender will hold position from 1-6 hours firing on enemy recyclers as well as firing on the DF Interceptor.

DF Interceptor
The evolution of the DF Interceptor came about as empires seen the size of debris fields increase dramatically. With this ship came the ability for professional DF thieves to quickly snuff out enemy recyclers while collecting debris at the same time. Each DF Interceptor can recycle 15,000 units.

This is my first attempt at creating a new ship so may need some adjustments.
But with this ship will come the need for fleeters to step their game up as far as recycling DF's or build enough DF defenders to ninja incoming recs and interceptors. Adding another way to ninja fleet.

I dont know let me know what ya think.
Don't be too harsh as I may cry a bit. ;)

um, no....pass.

instead of this why arent we asking where the heck the elite recycler is? i could swear it was approved?

it could be a faster ship, and most importantly much larger cargo hold like was discussed. please zorg root around in the file that ideas go to die, and pull this one back out from the brink of death. this is a fantastic idea, has been agreed upon by the whole playerbase, and is long overdue.

Yes I think the elite recyclers are a much needed addition.
The idea of a ship to defend DF fields might be a nice touch too
but would like a run of game-play with E. Recyclers first to see if
there is a real need for them .Is DF field theft that rife, I probably think not.
Which reminds me must build more recs 8).

Debris theft is rampant from nearby planets as well as from the person you are attacking.

The person that you attack can get recyclers in the air every 48 seconds on average, the simulater is always off so you have to send extra recyclers and if you dont send enough you have to wait for ever for another wave to arrive.
Meanwhile the person you just attacked took 60% of the DF and is already rebuilding his fleet.

At the very least I think teh DF defender would be interesting part of the game.

Crashing someone and then using their DF to crash others recyclers to make the DF bigger.
We will especially need this if the DF detector building is implemented, but I'd rather see this then a new building anyways imo.

" " the simulater is always off so you have to send extra recyclers and if you dont send enough you have to wait for ever for another wave to arrive. " "

That's fair enough if I'm honest Cyphers had to bail me out at least once.I then made sure I had enough to cover the df of any fleets mine was able to crash. When I get out of vm next week I have to build another few k as my fleet has caught up again, but if you have enough recyclers and time it properly the bad sim needn't be an issue imo (overkill).Would like to see the E recyclers though.
Must say the DF detector building holds no interest for me either and I think it's unnecessary and won't get that much use.... except maybe for some turtle style player with a fleet of recs trawling the systems trying to grab some poor fleeters graft.8)

That would be sweet Torgard lol
Go crash a probe and return with your recs bellies full or just build the other ship to send with your recs and ninja the baiting ships then recycle them too.
I would suggest that a maximum of one fleet could defend a DF.

In our A$$ vs MDK war we have recycled a large amount of the hits on us greatly effecting the profits in the war.
It would be a different story if they were using these ships and we probably would have to hang our heads in defeat.
But with the amounts of DF we have recovered we can just keep rebuilding like it never happened.

I was ninja'd for the #1 acs, I recovered alot of the DF and rebuilt so fast that less then 1 week later i was on the winning side of the new #1 acs ninja.
Someone might still have their lunars right now if DF's were defended.

In my opinion, If I crash someone I want all of the DF.
I put the work in, I was the one to risk the crash, so why should a DF thief get any?
Also it adds another dimension to an already sweet game, making it more interesting and more of a challenge.
