New Implementation Era coming soon

#1
If you have not yet done so, have a look on What is currently going on

Soon a big Era regarding development will close. One could claim that this could be the Version 1.0 for Zorg Empire. Truth is that it is not fruitful to speak about versions for persistent game worlds, such as Zorg Empire. Still if we were forced to say which is the CURRENT ZE version, I would say 0.7 and with the finish of what remains, we will reach 0.8

But what really happened in this Era ?

Here is a quick attempt in titles:
*Server performance
Much work, perhaps the highest has been given into this department. Countless hours in optimization and beyond.

*Bugs
There were bugs, for sure. Many bugs. The Bug Killer dev team thanks to Bug Hunter playerbase took care of them.

*Interfaces
Most of the interface appears the same throughout these 3 years but is in fact highly worked and improved. Especially when it comes to navigation ease. Our latest implementation is the Mobile interface, well before initial schedule.

*New Game Features.
Some may appear basic to you but truth is that 3 years ago, none of them existed.
-Rapid Fire
-Acs Defend
-Acs Attack
-ACS attack simulator
-2 bugfree, balanced and meaningful Battle Engines with a 3rd under development.
-2 new ships and 1 new technoloy added after extensive research and beta testing.
-Medals
-Stats
-Referral System
-Zorg Tools website
-Forums & Chat
-More biggies I certainly miss right now

and last but not least, lots and lots of player suggestions.

So, what is in to close the Era ?
-Just check the link What is currently going on. For future reference; just a few.

What this means for Zorg Empire and the players ?
-This means that we currently seek to design the future and we are at large with a blank paper, ready to get filled with the best ideas we get from you.

We currently already have our own agenda. Some can be shared. These are:
*Tutorials to help the newcomers learn the game faster.
This will not be a small feature and will be based on missions.

*Further Improvement of login system with a centralized account and links to major existing systems. This is a pretty big one and we already have worked on this but its success remains uncertain, so does its competion time.

*3rd party data sharing for certified Zorg Empire tools. Not a priority right now.

*A new universe which will be the epitomy of our experience so far. We cannot share much about it; a new battle engine and perhaps significantly different game style. It will be delayed anyway. Development will start in about May 2012 and may last until December 2012. A probable launch day could be January 26 on 4 years anniversary (a year later from now).

How can you help in development?

A typical helpful player is one that plays passionately the game; tell his friends about it, brings them along and teaches them. This is always helpful. Let's not forget buying rubies; also very helpful.

Still there are more you can do. Just describe us how your dream gameplay should be. This will be enough for us.

If you still feel you can contribute more, just dig through old good suggestions and bump them up. The next development in schedule is Player suggestions.

Okay, a big.. emm.. article. Still I have more to write but I will stop.
Let me know if you actually read the whole post :P

I know I hold no grounds personally with anyone on forums but as a Zorg player I believe that being able to grow to how you like would be a defining feature of Zorg. Many games have missions that sometimes seem pointless for the time being (in the eyes of a newer player a lot of things seem pointless), and I think it was that time of trying to uncover everything this game has to offer was very entertaining. I think that the current guide is helpful, with this quest to discover Zorg I find that it influences you to find alliances, go to chat, and talk with other players which without doing any of those things would make his game very boring as there would be no purpose (as a newer player would see it as the game in itself not what it could be as they keep to themselves). Now that is just me, perhaps I am just being extreme here. My stand on the Missions tutorial would be to make them limited and optional, opting out, and not invasive in the whole discovering the game for yourself.

I will get off my soapbox now. I do apologize for replying months later than it was posted but I though I would express my opinion (it might just me that feels this way) but usually there are others. Just a suggestion, I don't think I would quit but it would take something from the game.... the thrill of boasting that you just discovered battleships or you just successfully raided a planet. Simple things are the silver lining in this game in the begging. Godspeed to all and I hope this is not taken lightly because I stand firmly on this status.

Let's not be so hopeful of new universes. I am not trying to play them down, I just want more support in current universes. All current universes are still active and competitive. X-TREME is 3.2 years old and still going strong.

Also, besides activity, you should consider gameplay. This is eventually what is different in each universe. Each universe is different from the rest and each universe has a specific gameplay which is unique to it. If you like a universe gameplay, stick with it. A new universe will not have the same gameplay and this is a guarantee.

So instead of hoping for a new universe that you may not like, I say you should stick with the one you currently like. You can always expect us to do our best to keep the activity of each universe at its highest but we always need your support to accomplish this.
