What are expeditions? What are their purposes? How do I use them?

you send your ships out in search of abandoned ships and resource. if you want a bit of free advice, dont waste your time with them. they are a waste of res researching the tech, and in my experience more times than not i ended up losing my ships i send out. focus on the other important research like your weapons, shields, and armor tech. i really dont know why zorg doesnt just remove them alltogether as most ppl after a few weeks figure out how worthless they are by trial and error. unfortunately it is too late to get back their lost ships and lost resource used in researching it.
