Is the Plasma Cannon worth it? It has 200 less shield than an Ion cannon, and cost a heck of a lot more. It does extreme attack damage, almost 3x that of a Gauss Cannon, but cost three times as much. Is it worth it to build a plasma cannon, or is a combination of Guass Cannons and Ion Cannons better? I have tried experimenting with this, but have had hardly any progress answering.

PC is the only defensive structure that does not have RF against it and if you have enough they will be the last thing left in a battle next to RIPs..nothing has as much as ion cannons because the purpose of ion cannons is to add shielding to the rest of the defense..says so in description as a matter of fact..'Due to the cannons highly improved shielding system, this cannon provides improved protection for your larger, more destructive defense weapons.'...

turtles..and true turtles have to work this way...the only way the PC is worth it is if you have fodder defense infront of them..the LL's and RL's are there to draw fire ..just like a fleeter builds light fighter fodder to protect the larger ships..the turtle has to build fodder to protect the PC's

It will not keep you safe from a very powerfull fleeter.
So no matter what combo you try ,you are never safe.

The first defense tips that I got was to make my planet unprofitable. The concept was to either limit your production to such a level that attack against your turtle shell cannot be profitable or prepare a better offence.
At the beginning you should concentrate on the first approach but with the big guns, best defense is strong offense. Keep a bigger fleet around like a watch dog.

I prefer guass over plasma, it has stats 3X plasma, but costs less than 1/3. The RF is exactly the same except against RIPs, and you will not find many players who use them.

i wasn't gonna deter em from a path rather let em choose himself but you are right in your statment..always have to keep your investments prtoected at all times
