Is there an option to change back to the old galaxy view?
Should be if there isn't.

Change back to what exactly? The applied changes can hardly justify this. There are only minor changes which have been made to facilitate the addition of one more icon.

Still, you can control which buttons/icons appear there, through settings.

Visual preference. Just like some people hated the "futuristic" buttons. Thought maybe there'd be an option to opt out of this too.
