Storage Dens

I feel storage dens can add an interesting dynamic to the game. If one was so inclined to invest into them they can be useful, especially if you are a player that doesn't have time to collect from your colonies regularly. I feel most players do not see the overall usefulness of them and for the price, they just are not practical. I had an interesting thought, possibly to improve the dens. Is there a way to introduce a resource ratio that is stored in the den?
Kind of like adjusting the percentage of mine production only you can select what ratio of resources are stored in the den.
For example: As of now level 10 stores 768,867 of each resource for a total of 2,306,601. If a player is hording crystal or deuterium for a big research spend, they could opt for a ratio of 10% metal, 50% crystal and 40% deuterium equaling 100% of the den capacity. For a Ratio of 230,660 metal, 1,153,300 crystal, 922,640 deuterium.

As i said, it is just a thought and I'd like to hear some pros and cons about it. Let me know what you think!

I think this is a good idea but only up to a certain point. A minimal amount of storage, safeguard a nominal amount might be a good idea. The management of that space does make sense.

I like your idea, and to be more real you can split the dens by 5 silos, meaning you can arrange your 5 silos as you wish. But once a silo is filled with one material, you can't put any other except if you empty it.
That's one way to complicate it.
