Got this on Speed, Xtreme, and Massacre. At the top of the hour.. Which is too close to update times. Why would you perform maintenance so close to update times? That can really mess over some players...

Database is currently offline. This can be either a scheduled maintenance routine or a database problem. This is a global affect. Try again in a few seconds.

For how long you saw this? I am not sure if it lasted more than 3 seconds.

On all three servers it was sporadic and lasted until :15 after the hour.

In which case, why bother making the announcement? Unless of course you could foresee problems arising from this. If so and the latter is true, then it is too close to the update time, lol.

This is why we made no announcements. Updates take place many times a week. Sometimes you spot them, sometimes you do not. Since they last a few seconds at WORSE, we do not pay attention if they are close to update times or not.

The servers after all have many update times, some are more important to us than it is for you. For example. the backup times are more important for us while for you the ranking updates are more important for you (the players).

Whenever we are expecting something to last longer (like 2 minutes or more), then we announce it.

Understood about needing updates, but there was no announcement and the updates took longer than 2 minutes.

Count that as unexpected. Are you sure though it lasted that long? It was one of the updates we run periodically in long intervals but I do not remember we had an issue before.
