It's a difficult one this! When I make a good hit, that I feel is worthy of a mention in the UoH then I won't hesitate to post it. It's like a nudge from me to show other Zorg members what I am now capable of now :D I don't think I would like it if the player on the loosing end of the fight posted the hit on here. The hit could have been something that took a large amount of research and patience and I might want to post a little accompanying story along with the statistics.
Personally I enjoy reading the stories that go with the hits, makes them more interesting. As Noodle suggested maybe if a time scale was allocated, in my opinion 48 hours or something like that then yes let the loser post the hit if they really want to,,, however I don't really understand why a loser would want to do that in the first place!

There are probably plenty of good hits that are made that we don't get to see on here. It's been pretty quiet on the UoH recently! More people need to stop worrying about people knowing their fleet strength. If you are a good player who understands fleet saving then it is difficult to be crashed, of course there are tactics an enemy can use to get you, and this is the time to lay low. When I am online I dont care who sees my fleet, I'll esp from the planet my fleet is on and it doesn't make any differene at all. Whenever I am offline my fleet is in the air. If you keep safe then there is no reason not to post hits. PLEASE MORE HITS ON THE UoH :D

People keep saying this like THAT is the reason people don't want them to post it. Its the idea of the loser posting it that they are complaining about. This solution does fix the "under the radar" argument (Which seems to be the biggest one to me) because it is still being posted.

I honestly don't see why it matters if it is posted or not. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't get a cash prize by posting a hit, do you? People don't come knock on your door every time you post a hit, so what is the big deal about it?

If you want to have it posted, you need to post it as soon as you hit it. If you don't want it posted, you shouldn't have attacked. This isn't exactly a major conundrum, people.

Haha, this thread is funny. Slash, while I still agree with your point, me being number 1 doesnt make my opinion matter any more than anyone elses. I think that looking at who is "for" and "against" in this topic really displays who has experience in other similar games (You know the one). In that game it isnt a rule but when people do post the hits against them, they get ridiculed.

Look, my point is that some of the top players may stalk a player for days or weeks even months before catching them. The attacker puts alot of time and effort into catching someone. Sometimes it may be the 50th attempt on that player. The attacker puts so much time and effort into the hit that at the end there is normally a really good story to it which is enjoyable for all to read and I dont think its fair the defender should be allowed post it, taking away from this.

It doesnt happen often but when it does its accepted by everyone. Maybe a 48Hr window would be the best idea since all top hits get posted in that time, or even if the attacker wishes to post, they can request for the defenders thread to be removed.

In this similar game you are referring to, if it is the one I'm thinking of, the general etiquette is that the defender is allowed to post the hit on them, but only after 24 hours if the attacker has not already done so. If i am not mistaken, they are allowed to request the removal of such a thread too.

There are too many variables for it to be completely forbidden though i think, some have been stated. Examples can include ties or ninja's. Also, one that may get overlooked is what some people call "goodbye hits", none have taken place here as yet. This is when a player launches their fleet against a superior force, knowing they will lose and have their friends recycle the debris. Players doing this are generally leaving the game and will want to post up the hit with one of these stories of their own, posting rights would forbid that.

Personally, i think a 24 hour window for the victor to post the report is fine, then the loser can break a leg. If the loser should post the battle, it's not that much of a big deal, if the loser didn't have rights over it they wouldn't have received a combat report in the first place, they are given to both parties for a reason, both have equal participation in the event.

However, that being said, i will delete or lock a posted report if the victor comes to me telling me they had other plans for said report. As this seems to be more of an etiquette issue between players, there isn't really anything that can be done to stop it. It's down to the involved parties to decide what to do.

and what i would do is build as many deathstars as i could then send 2-3 to each othe top 10 players main moon on destroy mission and see what happens
might get lucky and blow a couple up
that would be cool way to go out of the game :D
Indeed, you can expect a big bang from me if i decide to leave, i certainly won't go out the way Mintaka did. :?
