I often wonder why a banned player is just banned, not deleted right away. I suppose a banned player must be given the chance to appeal or prove their innocence. But some, four years later, still taking up room??
I think with a finite amount of space and some good worlds not being used, then every account that has not been used for so long, whether it be inactivity, v mode, banned etc, just delete them.

Any account currently banned in any server over one month ago should be removed from the game. The accounts left in the game that are still banned should follow the criteria that follows.
To handle future issues, this is what I propose:
Any player breaking the rules in any way is running a risk of getting caught. If they are willing to take the risk, the account should be put into a one week VMode ban. (This week long ban is for the player in question to write an appeal). The appeal form will be located when the player tries to log in. An E-Mail might also be sent to the player as well just in case the player does not attempt to log in during the time frame allocated for the appeal.
If no action is made by the player to appeal his/her case, then the account should be terminated.
However, if the player makes an appeal then the ban will continue, but the deletion should be suspended until a final accusation is made. Once the investigation concludes, the situation should be handled accordingly.
These are my suggestions...
If the player is guilty, immediate termination of the account takes place.
The superiors within the game then have a choice between two options of how to keep the offender from rejoining the game and becoming a repeat offender:
1. Write an algorithm that returns a warning message when an IP within the game matches a banned accounts IP.
2. Write an algorithm that keeps a player who has been previously banned from creating a new account from their IP.
NOTE: this does not offer a solution for a player who uses a proxy to change his IP.
After the review, if the player is innocent, the ban should be lifted but the account needs to remain in VMode until the user decides he/she is ready to resume play. Personally I do not believe any compensation should be given since the player chose to put himself in that position to begin with. (However if the administration feels the player truly did nothing to warrant a ban, they might reconsider and return the resources they would have received from the production of their mines during the time of their ban.
This solution would require some work to complete, but offers a way to remove currently banned players, and saves the players and administration the grief of dealing with future rule breakers.
