What's the point of having a battlecruiser ... i compared 2 battlecruiser with destoryer in simulator and destroyer won. So i was planning on inventing a battlecruiser, but now i don't think i gonna need it i rather focus on inventing destroyer.

destroyers are slower than BC, battleships have bigger hulls so they can carry more resources when raiding.
both cost more duet to move than the BC.

It all depends on what you are targeting, and the weapon shield armor plus plasma techs of the defender compared to yours. Battlecruisers in large numbers are a somewhat affordable way to smash up fleet. Destroyers are more expensive and use more deut to move.

untill you have a massiver fleet that you can use to push through a turtle to get the juicy marrow if it (deut) you will always have to keep a close eye on the deut you drain to fly your ships.
having said that compared with BC to BS/DD/LGs they all are heavy hitters but all are pretty darn expensive to operate with. For example BS is twice the more expensive to fly compared to BC and so is DDs and LGs or even more so i forgot the exact figure... look it up from the tech tree.
the question is till when you can rely on them. simple example the moment you feel that you are able to crack in a bigger turtle but you cant go through cause there are RIPs laying around or you want to crash a DD/LGs + RIP fleet your time is here to move on from BC to much stronger ships like DDs and LGs...
if you have anything less than 20K BC you are ok with what you have but when u have something more than that count and you have a pretty good steady deut income got for DDs or LGs.
