Hey,

my friend send me a link to join this game so I used it, create my own profile in game and realized that we are not in same system. I´m a bit confused because my friend send this link to another friend and they are in same system... So, I´m I just unlucky ( yeah, really wanted to be with them) or is this some kind of mistake?

No it's not guaranteed to be in the same system pure luck if you are.

You can though colonize new planets at a common spot
