hi i just started this game-- i read all i could find and the last i played i had a few ships and about 2 dozen Solar Satellite and a defence missile-- than i had to go afk for a day.. when i came back i had 2 espionage reports of ships being seen near my planet but i was not attacked-- but all my ships n defence are just gone and i have debris over my planet-- i assumed that ES did that so i built them and i can only scout so wat am i missing

The only explanation is that you were attacked and somehow missed the report. If the debris field you saw was mostly Crystal it's likely it was just the remains of the probes shot down as they approached your planet.

Look up fleetsaving, it's an essential skill to master if you want to progress far into the game and especially if you need to go away for a day.

i am very sure that there was no attack reports-- all i have is the same thing 3 times
"An enemy fleet at the planet EDITED was sighted near your planet XXX"

so does this mean i got attacked and do not even know what i lost??

Check if you have any messages on under your "combat reports". If not, perhaps you have the ships on another planet, I couldn't find my fleet earlier this month for an hour when I was drunk doing the same thing . Also check your planets and moons outside them. Sometimes i mean to send something to a planet and it lands on the moon etc. Do this through your empire menu and go down towards the fleet numbers. Scroll across until you find where the numbers pop up and what planet they are on. As well, listen to Ista, or my favourite ZE quote from a past great : "Flyin' or dyin" comes into effect.
