are ipms worth it?

how many Rocket Launchers can you kill with 10 ipms (just targeted at) .
same for LL,Gauss,Ion, etc,etc?

i have 525 interplanetary missiles what could that kill? weapons level 15

i dont think shields and armour affect my ipms???

ps Everytime i post it goes in to the HELP section, how change it?

im a newbie poster! :-) :-)

Heya,

Its hard to say, I know what it is for myself but I dont know what factors calculate the damage or defence. If there are differences then its useless for you.

It is easy to put together though.

Target someone with 1 IPM(prob better to use 5 or 10 as a base attack for this though) and launch at a specific target like rocket launchers. Esp the target, then record the number of RLs destroyed. Repeat this step 5 times and then average the 5 results. Then you can repeat that on other targets like LLs PCs whatever.

Once you have some good data, just stick it into excel and create yourself a little calculator which tells you how many IPMs you'll need to destroy x amt of target defense based on your averages. And add in the cost so you get an idea on resources. Then you can begin to determine if its worth it or not.

I find that it only takes 2 IPMs for the shield generators.

Thank you for that interesting information. I will give it a try.

10 is probably a good base number.

i never knew it could only take 2 Ipms to take out a shield , is that a small shield or BIG?

all depends on your opponets shields.

i find Light Lasers a good target and plasmas hard as you would expect!
no point hitting rockets, i find my ships just go through rockets unless you have 50,000 ++ lol

only just found out IMPULSE engines helps the range of yer missiles(and speed?).
is this by a factor of 10 fields per upgrade?

Yes, I forgot to mention the Impulse tech does that. Hard to type and hide at work all at the same time :P

Naturally the more structure points that they have, the more damage it will absorb from the missile. 10 is a good base for all though, you are correct.

I use 2 IPMs on both Large, and Small shield domes. It destroys them for me every time, but as I said, I'm not sure what really determins what damage is done...

Well just hit a target with weapons level 18, shields 17, armour 18

only took 1 rocket to take out large shield, and 1 for small. That sounds like a bargin?

1 rocket took 5 Gauss, 3 took 9 gauss?, trying 10 next

why not 3 rocks take 15 gauss.

Update enemy had Gauss 32 sent 10 rockets, has 1 left. 10 rockets=31 Gauss.

shields rockets missile rip deathstar large cargo metal crystal do key words like this get more views and posts?

You won't get an exact result out of any battle conditions. IPMs or Combat Sim. Only thing you can do is average it and hope for the best :) But over time you will get the numbers down and without thougth you'll know how many IPMs to send!

I'm still scratching my head on how you could have so many...

He must have sent several waves. While IPMing is not my strong point, I do believe that the enemy's armour tech level has an effect, while your weapons tech has an effect on potency as well as the impulse engine having an effect on distance. I could be wrong, but that is just what I think.

Kick has to be right, it would take far less IPMs for me to take out that number of targets. I wish we knew for sure, and exactly what the numbers were, I'm a fan of IPMs :)
