The planet was not already colonized.

It happens when there's still the abandoned planet counter on the planet slot. Or the slot's bugged.

thanks, its probably bugged because it does not have the words abandoned planet anywhere.

I just went through and colonized and abandoned 14 planets, and no message like to one you got.
