power problem or not

I just started playing, I follow the Just Joined steps and Im seeing my power go in the red -178/780 ok, I would thin if i folow the games quick start i would be ok, Am I? or do I need to get the power back in the green and keep it there? a confused Noobi, thanks and Happy New years all.

If your energy is on the negative, your mines will produce less resource.
If you are exactly following the just joined guide, you will have a negative energy at some point.
What steps have you finished?

This is nothing to worry about. You start hitting negative energy in the guide when you begin to construct Deut mines. 
Add your own step by constructing another Solar Plant or just build a few solar sattelites when you're done constructing a ship yard and you'll be just fine.
