Being a turtle you need to have strong income from mines, so it is best to cluster your planets all close together and build some high level mines on them.

Choose one of your planet to build a good shell on. I would say a good shell composotion is:

10k Light Lasers to every 500 Ion Cannons.
500 Ion Cannons to every 50 Gauss Cannons.
50 Gauss Cannons to every 25 Plasma Cannons.

So a set up would look like these:

10000 LL
500 IC
50 GC
25 PC

Or

25000 LL
1250 IC
125 GC
62 PC

Some people also go for a heavier Plasma Cannon build where you forget about the Gauss Cannons and Triple/Quadruple the Plasma Cannon coeffiecient.

I hope this helps you and good luck turtling. :)

Don\\\'t hesitate to ask more questions.

Funny... I just took 22M with zero loss from your "meanest" turtle.

I would like to add something to this. It really depends how sbig your shell is going to be. For example, if you have a ton of res, building more ions would probably be good because you can pull of some 0 losses. But if money is tight, less ions because you are gonna need more firepower. This is not coming from a turtle, so I may possibly have made a mistake.

Light Lasers in mass quantities can keep a considerable sized fleet from eating your lunch. BUT- when (and if) Rapid Fire is enabled, all bets are off and the current defensive posture of the entire game is thrown in the rubbish.

i agree with slash and u 2 eric ur right cause ions doprevent too muchloss and put in some good fire powerandhonestly light lasers are much more better and more effective and notto mentioncheaper than a rocket launcher

Aye, Rocket Launchers and Heavy Lasers are absolutely pointless to build. Their effectiveness for their cost is horrendous.

I've noticed a lot of people say that Plasma Cannons are not worth the cost either, but you have to realise how much power they actually hold. They have as much fire-power as 1.5 Destroyers and, probably their most valuable feature, they are the only unit (except the RIP) in the game that have no Rapid Fire against them at all.

Building 15-20 of these on a moon will stop an RIP in its tracks if it attempts to pop it, may even destroy the RIP. That's if you want to use 8 moon slots for the Ship Yard.

In my opinion, forget about the Gauss Cannons and stack LL/IC/PC.
