how many light lasers do i need to stop a fleet of 10 light fighters without them causing me too much damage

I have battleships and I want to get a moon so i will have matt attack me how many light lasers and stuff (the best thing i can build is Gauss cannon) do i need to defend and win easily

The answer varies with the amount of Weapons/Shields/Armor (WSA) you and your opponent have. Count on about 30 Light Lasers to stop 10 Light Fighters.

If you're going for a moon, 230 Large cargo Ships will usually do the trick. Either use fleet or planet defense to bust them up.

I HIGHLY recommend finding a game simulator that mimics ZE until the Battle Simulator is operational. Just remember that the simulators out there will not give perfect results, so much trial and error will be needed to find the right mix. Unfortunately, because of forum rules, I can not post links nor name the sims in public.

2M debris is a target number for 20%. But that doesn't mean the game engine can be prodded a bit to yield better than 20. I've had two planets that skewed my ratio to 1 in 3. Otherwise, they've been 1 for 1.
