I hit recall on a deploy mission, my fleet did not come back to my planet. It was not destroyed or anything like that. I checked fleet and shipyard and stilll nothing. Is this suppose to happen?

It's be back, it just doesn't show in overview, hit the fleet menu and you'll see the time.
