Battle Engine

Alright, so here it goes. As most of you know, I've been gone for a while. A little over two years, in fact. And I am sure that, in that time, a new battle engine was installed. Now, will someone please clear up how it works for me, and how it relates to the sim?
I understand that shields no longer regenerate. I understand that LL were debuffed a bit. But what the Hell is wrong with the sim? In all of the hundreds of battles I've simmed, defensive shields have been regenerating at about 1% per turn, and attackers regen nothing. And, although rapid fire is causing the damage to increase as supposed to be, it is only firing at one defense at a time. Is this supposed to happen? Do real battles differ?

to my knowledge rapid fire only works on one pairing at a time, and the sim is going to be worked on i think

Ace, the best solution is to just never raid; then you don't have to worry about it. I do believe, though, that RF takes the fleet stack by stack in some way. I don't remember exactly, and as I've been gone quite a while as well, it's very possibly different than what I remember.

Alright then. The battles I've simmed have all been pretty one-sided either way, due to that stacking.

The only thing the simulator is worth using for is to calculate DF sizes. From my experiences with the new battle engine, the sim is only accurate if you completely outgun the opponent anyway and it would have been a clean hit in general. Any battle where the outcome relies on rapid fire, or the outcome can swing a little either way, and the results on the battle sim can be way off.
My advice is to feel around yourself, only sim something for DF sizes or unless you are really unsure, chances are if it's a close battle the results you see in the sim will be pretty different from what actually happens.

well if this if for the benefit of raiding if the inactive or player has 1 of every defense sending 25 BC is the lowest possible amount of ships to send to make sure no losses occur.

that depends on ur WSA and the opponents...i just sim the other guy with 21 WSA all so it covers all the top guys...so its alwasy around like 50 BC
