i think it goes by whole numbers. because when i calculated something regarding the energy values earlier, it came out to 29.8, but on the page it was written 29. but im not 100% sure.

I just did the calculations and it is rounded down to the nearest whole percent. Example

-1/1000 is equal in production to -1/100

that actually would result in 99.9 percent efficiency.I think it is pretty mean to round that to 99%some beta player should experiment and see if it is only whole numbers or what is actually going on.It would be very beneficial to know these exact efficiency formulas

What if you go into -324/1,000 or something like that?

I would guess your mines are 32 percent less efficient because roughly 32 percent of your total energy is negative.

Alright I got another question, well a couple.

So from everything iv gathered so far, having a negative value on energy means that you have an actuall prduction equall to 100-percentage of negative energy. So for eg. if you have -5/100 energy, your production is actually 95.

now does this mean that your only getting 95% production on a certain material, i.e metal, crystal, or det., or does it mean 95 percent for all three, or does it mean its shared, i.e 5/3 for each.

also, suppose i have 100 energy, and suppose i put crystal at 80% production, and now have +5 energy. But, when i put crystal at 90% production, i have a -1 energy. so does that mean im only losing 1% of the production, i.e meaning im actually operating at 89% efficiency atm, therby being more productive than having a +5%?
In other words, if i increase my percentage of manufacturing, (by intervals of 10, as given) and the value of energy turns from positive to negative, but the mod. of the negative value is less than the positve, then its still beneficial to me?

All of your production would be down in the first case.Your second question is more complex but If I see what you mean,when you set a mine to 90 you would actually get 89 percent efficentcy,where as setting the mine to 80 would get you 80 because the excess energy woul actually do you no good.so I ask you which is greater 89 percent or 80 percent?
